JACK'S CV

The Coronavirus hit Jack's company hard in 2020 and his role was made redundant after fifteen years in a number of different roles.

A father of three and in need of a steady income, Jack immediately set about applying for openings but got very few positive responses. It had been many years since Jack had updated his CV and he realised that the version he had previously used was out of date and poorly written - it has grown over his career and had never been radically rewritten and hence just didn't showcase his experience and abilities.

He contacted Citae and worked with one of our professionals. Three days later he had an attractive, engaging and polished CV that immediately gained the traction that he sought in job applications. Jack felt more confident and positive about the job finding process and understood his value and worth.

We can happily report that Jack was quickly offered a role that he is very happy with.
PETER'S COVERING LETTER

Finding a role that he really wanted, Peter decided to apply for it. Knowing that he had four weeks until the closing date he took his time to write a highly tailored application and spent many, many hours on it.

However, the application deadline was fast approaching and Peter felt that his covering letter just wasn't punchy enough - it just reiterated parts of his CV.

After hours of struggling with it and feeling that whatever he wrote didn't work, Peter contacted Citae. We spoke with him in detail about his application and 48 hours later he had a superbly crafted covering letter that articulated the value that he would bring to the role.

Peter submitted his application comfortably before the deadline and was interviewed three weeks later.
FIONA'S NEXT LEVEL

Having shortlisted and interviewed many people through her career, Fiona was confident that she knew how to write a strong application when a superb opportunity that would take her to the next level of her career arose for her.

However, when she came to write her application she realised that she didn't know what a CV for the next level looked like - she had never seen one and no amount of Googling found one for her to look at.

She contacted Citae and we spent 60 minutes understanding the potential role. We quickly adapted her existing CV to focus on the most powerful aspects of her career and wrote it in a language that the boardroom understands.

Not only was Fiona interviewed for the role, fourteen weeks later she occupied it.
CLAIRE'S TRANSFORMATION

Not having had much experience of interviews in her career to date, Claire was dreading an interview for an internal promotion. She knew that she could excel in the new role but was worried that she couldn't portray the right characteristics in an interview scenario.

Claire tried using family friends to practice her technique but found that she was too comfortable with people that she already knew. So she came to Citae to sharpen up her interview competency.

After understanding how the interview was likely to be conducted we gave Claire a mock interview over video conference. Then we analysed Claire's performance and pointed out a number of habits that she was not aware of and which were detrimental to her performance.

Armed with this information, when Claire watched her interview back she really understood the feedback. The big interview arrived and she portrayed herself confidently and professionally, securing that promotion.
TAYO'S SEARCH

Tayo found himself in a career that did not satisfy him and he was beginning to give up on his hopes of changing careers. The job search had gone on for over two years and he fell into a cycle of using the same old application techniques and tools despite their having no success.

We transformed Tayo's CV and covering letter into an upbeat and positive showcase of his experience and potential. He used those documents to apply to a number of new roles, adapting them himself within the framework that we had provided him.

His search came to an end when he landed a role that is close to his dream job.
DEV'S COMPANY

Dev's company conducted research funded through a series of grants and research. When Covid-19 hit the world, all of that funding was cut and Dev needed to find a new role.

His research company kindly added Citae services to the redundancy package and Dev used our services to write his CV and apply for a number of roles. He feels that the simple investment by his former company made an enormous difference to the redundancy process and took great comfort from not facing the challenge alone.

We are happy to say that Dev quickly found an alternative role where his research skills are greatly valued and rewarded.
